PATRICK A. GORMAN

Patrick A. Gorman is Vice President of Gorman and Associates, Inc. a strategic consulting firm for corporate and government affairs. Since its inception, the company has been dedicated to being the preeminent business development firm for companies seeking to do business with the Fortune 500 as well as the advisory firm of choice in understanding the federal government in Washington, D.C.

Patrick's focus at Gorman and Associates, Inc. includes law and the legislative process, communications, government relations, and operations. Over the last 10 years, he has advised corporations, NGOs, non-profits, and individuals on issues pertaining to criminal law, the environment, international trade, fund raising, community development, media relations, and alternative dispute resolution.

Prior to joining the firm, he developed media strategies for local businesses, primarily through targeted advertising on regional sports channels.

Patrick spent much of the 90's as the Director of Development for the America Works Partnership (AWP), a D.C based non-profit aimed at breaking the cycle of dependency among low-income public housing residents by offering skill and educational training tied to good paying jobs in the construction fields. While there, he created relationships with foundations, federal and state governments, community providers, and infrastructure development stakeholders in order to fund headquarters and establish satellite offices across the country. During his tenure, Mr. Gorman helped obtain more than $8 million in funding from the federal government. He also took primary responsibility for expanding and diversifying AWP's Board of Directors.

Before joining AWP, Patrick acted as the Executive Director of a non-profit charged with creating common ground among adversarial stakeholders within the Department of Energy's nuclear remediation field. Reaching-out to federal, state, and local governments, unions, contractors, and academicians, Patrick's work resulted in policy changes at DOE that transferred greater responsibility to the private sector in exchange for increased financial opportunities.

Mr. Gorman is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia and has successfully appeared at the administrative, district, circuit, and appellate court levels.

He has a BA from Colorado College and a JD from Catholic University Law School. He has lived in Spain and Mexico, and currently resides in Washington, DC with his wife, Abigail and their sons, Michael and William.
